Typical Day at Camp Advent
Here is a brief overview of what a day at Camp Advent looks like:
Each day begins in the sanctuary with all of the youth gathered together. Camp Tomah Shinga counselors lead the group in camp songs, a brief prayer, and a warm welcome. At 9:30 a.m., campers break into their age-based groups and begin rotating through activities.
Morning rotations typically include an age-appropriate Bible lesson, crafts, and games, with a snack break in between. Around midday, campers enjoy approximately 45 minutes to an hour for lunch, followed by free outdoor play.
In the afternoon, groups rotate through three additional activities, which usually include games and/or a craft. The day concludes around 2:30 p.m. as everyone comes back together for a Bible story, prayer, and songs before dismissal.
Water Wednesday is a camper favorite! On this day, children spend about half the day outdoors participating in water games and activities, definitely a highlight of the week. 💦
