The Rev. Susan Langhauser is the Senior Pastor at Advent Lutheran Church in Olathe, Kansas. Pastor Langhauser received her B.A. in Speech and Theatre from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Mo. and her Master of Divinity with honors from Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, Ca.
Prior to entering seminary, she was the Director of Chapter and International Affairs for the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) and travelled extensively. She has served on the ELCA Church Council and Executive Committee, chaired the Planning and Evaluation Committee and co-chaired the Reference and Counsel committee for the 2010 Churchwide Assembly. A member of the Communal Discernment Task Force, she was the editor for their final report document which is in use across the wider church. Pastor Langhauser is a Chaplain for the Overland Park (Kansas) Police Department and is the author of Blessings and Rituals for the Journey of Life (Abingdon Press, 2000.) Since its publication, she has led many workshops and seminars on blessings, worship and preaching around the country.
Pastor Susan and her husband, the Rev. Roger Gustafson, served as Advent co-pastors for 23 years, until his election in 2013 as bishop of the Central States Synod of the ELCA. The Bishop Emeritus is now retired. They have one grown son, Andy, who is married to Megan, and two precious grandchildren.

The Rev. Anteneh Gebreselassie the Associate Pastor at Advent Lutheran Church in Olathe, Kansas. Pastor Anteneh is a native of Ethiopia. He earned his undergraduate degree in Theology from the Mekane Yesus Theological Seminary in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and his Master of Divinity degree with honors from the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg, PA.
Pastor Anteneh sensed his call to ministry in his teenage years. He served as a young evangelist preaching and teaching the gospel in his home country. Pastor Anteneh and his wife Sophia moved to the United States, as a winner of the Green Card lottery that he believed was a sign of God's call to the American Lutheran church.
As a teaching parish seminarian, he served at Salem Lutheran Church in Catonsville, MD, as a pastoral intern at Advent Lutheran Church in Olathe, KS and while waiting for his first call he served as postgraduate Vicar at Christ Lutheran Church in LaVale, MD. Pastor Anteneh’s first call was at Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arlington, VA where he served as an Associate Pastor for over six years. Pastor Anteneh also served as an African National Ministries coordinator for the Metropolitan Washington DC Synod. and was a board member at Lutheran Social Service. Pastor Anteneh was called to Advent Lutheran Church to serve as an associate pastor on September 30, 2018.
Pastor Anteneh is married to Sophia Fekade and together they have three young children, Yonni, Yohanna, and Barry.
