We have been an internship site for the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg since 2004.
Rev. Betty Landis (2004-05) now serves St. Paul Lutheran Church in Evanston, IL
David Ludwick (2008-09) has been assigned to the North Carolina Synod
Rev. Katie Brantner (2006-07) now serves at Trinity in Mount Joy, PA
Rev. Joel Neubauer (2005-06) now serves at Christ Lutheran Church in Middletown, CT
Our intern for 2009-10 has been Vicar Anteneh Gebreselassie.
In addition, in 2009-10 Pastor Roger supervised a "detached site" intern, Scott Piper, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Butler, MO, and Pastor Susan currently is a mentor for Dinah Dutta, who has entered the TEEM program, training for pastoral leadership with indigenous communities.
Advent has also been blessed to be the home congregation for
Rev. David Whetter, pastor of Salem Lutheran Church in Lenexa, KS; Rev. Ted Mosher, pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran in Lawrence, KS; and Rev. Brenda Crossfield, pastor of Faith Lutheran Church in Prairie Village, KS. Janice Hawley has finished her internship at Trinity Lutheran Church and the University Campus Center in Laramie, WY. and has begun her senior year at Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, IA.
All of our seminarians and interns have received some support for their theological education through Advent's Scholarship Program.
